Spalted Beech
One of my favourite woods to turn in Spalted Beech. Every pattern is unique and you never know what you’re going to get!
English Oak
Another of my favourite woods to turn is Oak. With its very tight grain and beautiful markings, it’s a very hard wood. Oak is one of the easy woods to get hold of so for multiple order commissions, I tend to suggest Oak wood.
Sapele
Sapele is a darkAfrican Hard Wood and it becoming more popular with wood turners like myself.
It is currently one of the cheaper woods to get hold of and is also used a lot by cabinet makers and joiners.
It has a beautiful grain and is nice to work with.
